Uteara original homestead.

contributed by MClark, taken in 1953
(contact MClark about this picture)

Picture taken around 1953 by Ron Wetzel (my father) when he and his wife Ina first won Uteara, then know as Kennedy's Corner, in a War Service Land Settlement ballot for returned soldiers after WW2. He then improved this house with screens around the verandah. When supplies were more available and a more reliable income was coming in from wool sales he then built a new homestead.

Bonzle has pictures of Uteara spanning 33 years taken from 1953 to 1986:

Do you have historical photos of Australia?   Why not upload them and add to Bonzle's Photo History of Australia project.

Bonzle's Photo History of Australia project is all about organising photos of Australian places by location and time.  When you upload a picture for a place and enter a date for that picture then it automatically becomes part of the Photo History of Australia project.  We're trying to create the best, most organised, user contributed historical photo archive of Australia on the internet.  So don't let those historical photos go to waste, upload them and share them with the rest of Australia and the World.
