Cotter Dam

Work in progress. Rocks excavated from the side of Mount McDonald in preparation for the construction of a new dam wall, fill the Cotter River valley in front of the existing Cotter Dam wall which was constructed in 1912. The new dam wall will be about three times higher than the existing wall and hold back about twenty times the volume of water than does the existing dam.
